Flowers to 15cm, usually in pairs, on a robust pseudobulb with a single labiate leaf. The labiate Cattleyas are best grown in a well drained pot or basket. The media should be open so that it does not stay wet. Cattleya jenmanii comes from Colombia, requires a warm to intermediate climate and when growing, should be fertilised and watered adequately. When not in growth, drier conditions should prevail. Good ventilation is essential, and maximum sunlight short of leaf burn will ensure maximum flowering.
