The well known fire engine red to red orange species from Brazil. The rupicolus species produces tall spikes of sparkling flowers, each to 5 cm or so across. Intermediate grower. Laelia millerii is best grown in a small pot or basket in a well drained media, with maximum sunlight. Water and fertiliser when in active growth, and somewhat drier when not growing in the cooler months.
