A species closely related to Phalaenopsis lueddemanniana, the flowers almost all purple. A small basket with an open media is best. The old flower spikes will produce aerial plantlets, which can be tied back to the basket to produce a specimen. A warm grower, Phalaenopsis pulchra comes from the Philippines, and should be kept damp but not wet, and in the cooler months, less water.
