An upside down orchid. Of necessity, Stanhopeas need to be grown in a basket with wide mesh on the bottom to allow the spike to grow thru. A rich media is used, the plants do not like to dry out, and should be disturbed as little as possible.
A sunny spot, good ventilation and heaps of fertiliser while the plant is growing will produce a basket full and maximum flowering.
