A reedstem type species, requiring much the same conditions as Cattleyas, but perhaps a more intermediate to cool climate. A small pot with a well drained semiterrestrial media is used.
When not in active growth, water should be kept to a minimum, but when growing, water, humidity and fertiliser produces a robust plant.
