A small growing Laelia from Central America. This species does best on a slab of treefern or in a shallow pot or basket. It is a warm to intermediate grower, requires maximun sunlight. When inactive growth, apply lots of water and fertiliser. Also known as Laelia rubescens, there is an alba form. A short rest after flowering, Laelia acuminata is easily, accomodated along with Cattleyas in the orchid house.
