A small growing bifoliate Cattleya from Brazil with slender canes. The richly coloured flowers are fragrant. An easy species to grow, provided a small pot or basket with an open media is used. Plants should be kept just damp, rather than wet, and somewhat drier in the cooler months. Cattleya dormaniana is a warm to intermediate grower and will also grow well on a treefern slab with a little extra water.
