With waxy flat rose purple, 13cm flowers, heavy textured, Cattleya walkeriana is best grown on a slab of treefern with extra water and fertiliser. The species will also grow well in a pot or basket, where it will spread out into a specimen. After flowering the plant should be rested. Maximun sunlight and ventilation is required to maximise flowering. Warm to intermediate Brazilian species.
