A Brazilian species much like a small Cattleya, this needs a basket or shallow pot for good drainage. A robust grower, fertiliser and water when the new leads appear will produce heads of waxy flowers. A warm to intermediate grower, with maximum sunlight, to flower well. A dry rest in winter may be of benefit to Laelia xanthina.
