A semiterrestrail species from Central America. This grows into a large bulbed plant with large plicate leaves. A large basket with a rich media that will stay damp but not wet, lots of water and organic fertiliser while in active growth and a dry winter is recommended. Maximum sunlight short of leaf burn is needed. New growths appear in autumn, but do not develop until the warmth of summer. Attention should be paid to these new growths so that excess water is not applied to damp them out. With the warmth of summer, the plants will feed heavily. Ensure minimal disturbance of the plant.
