A gorgeous species from Venezuela with flowers to 7.5cm across, red, with silver white stripes. A soft leafed species, it needs shade and shelter and is an intermediate to cool grower. The plants when in growth should be kept just damp but not wet, and in the dormant season, should be kept on the dry side. A small pot with a media that will stay damp but not wet can be used, or, if sufficient watering can be maintained, a small block of treefern. Paphinias are small bulbed plants and will grow in a very small container.
