A green leafed species, this Paphiopedilum will take more sunlight than the mottled leaf species, and is growen successfully with Dendrobiums and the like. An intermediate more or less terrestrial species from Thailand. A pot with a rich media, and while the plant is growing, plenty of water, is needed for Paphiopedilum exul, with maimum sunlight short of leaf burn. This species will develop into a large clump, and is best left undisturbed as long as possible.
